Sometimes you just want to hide…When that happens, remember your God is before all things and through him all things hold together.

FaithView, For Storm Riders:
“He is before all things and in him all things hold together.”—Colossians 1:17
If you read this Scripture plainly…it’s great. If you read this Scripture with your faith already established…then it is amazing.
Before all things? He’s eternal.
All things hold through him? He’s all powerful.
I like an accessible Jesus. I love the account of the curtain in the Temple being ripped in two. I get the idea of Jesus being our friend and our brother even though he’s a king.
But what I like better is the fact that the Jesus I claim as my Savior and Lord, is before all things and through him, all things hold together. That’s a comforting thought.
So if this God is all-powerful and timeless, then doesn’t this free us to dream big dreams? To imagine the unimaginable. The creator of the universe, the one who created me, the one who went to a cross for me…That’s the one I put my faith in…and that’s the reason we can dream big…and the reason we can believe in the impossible.
This is the reason we have hope through all things. This is the reason we feel strength when we should feel weak. This is the reason we always see a way when there seems to be no other way.
With all of that, how could I/we ever think about dancing with someone else? Political causes? Social causes? Validation from man? Please, these things—as our friend Ralph Kramden once said—are a mere bag of shells compared to our Jesus.
He’s the one…the only one.
Boom!
