Burbank Faith Today: March 8, 2017

Older shot but a great shot of some of our kids…and the strange dude in the sunglasses.

FaithView, For Storm Riders:
“Dominion and awe belong to God: he establishes order in the heights of heaven.”—Job 25:2

I’ve love reading Job because Job is a book that puts us in our place. I love images of a laughing Jesus, of a kind Jesus, a brotherly Jesus…I love the notion that God is my friend…I believe all of these things, but I think I’m better served when I remember who he is and my place in the order of things.

He has dominion, he is all powerful and when I consider these things it makes the coming of Christ and the work of the cross that much more powerful. The creator of all things didn’t have to do anything. He could have snapped his finger and wiped us from existence, but instead, he showed us great love.

Remember this when your day is bad…Remember it in the examples in your own life when someone demonstrated directly to you an unconditional love that was neither earned nor deserved. The creator of the universe who has dominion over all things, the all mighty who establishes order in the heights of heaven loves little old you. He loves us.

That is a comforting thought and here is another.

The creator of all things went to the cross for us…The creator of the universe loves us—warts and all…And the creator of the universe keeps his promises. He is always faithful even when we are not.

Boom!
