"A three-letter word for 'Almighty' that starts with 'G' and ends with 'd'...Mmm?"

“A three-letter word for ‘Almighty’ that starts with ‘G’ and ends with ‘d’…Mmm?”

Sunday Services: 10:30 AM

Scripture For The Day:
“As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted, let him be eternally condemned!…Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.”—Galatians 1:9-10

Love verse nine. Verse nine is a clarifier..a sifter…it helps us to weed out the pollutants that attempt to infiltrate our faith. It’s a great verse…It’s clear, to the point and reminds us that the truths of God never change…In 21st Century vernacular, verse nine is awesome sauce.

Verse ten—on the other hand—is equally awesome but is much harder to put into practice…Especially in our 21st Century society where every feeling and every emotion has to be taken into consideration and validated. The need to be loved and accepted by everyone is such a driving force in our culture that it brings the believer into direct conflict with the scripture.

We have lost the ability, culturally, to understand that some people are not going to love us and many are not going to agree with us…Therefore, we do everything we can to make sure we are loved.

The need to be loved, more than anything, else is the leading the church—universal—into spiritual apostasy. The church has lost sight of verse ten—that it doesn’t need to please or seek the approval of man…It has also lost touch with Jesus’s words that if the world hated him, it is also going to hate us.

You can’t prevent people from disliking and disagreeing with you, but you can prevent yourself from being hurt by remembering that the only one you should be seeking the approval of is Christ and Christ alone.

Boom!
