Scripture For The Day:
“For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”—1 Corinthians 1:18

I like the cross…I like the way it looks…I like what it represents…I don’t necessarily like the way it is trivialized in our jewelry (no big whoop)…but the power of the cross rests in its message…The message of the cross is the awesome power of God to do all things—chief among them being to raise us to life through the blood of Christ.

I don’t like a cross that is busted…I don’t like a cross that is pitched upside down with its arms broken…like I said, I don’t like how it is abused in terms of fashion…But does it offend me to the point of anger and rage? Nah…Do I like it when it is removed from a public place like a park or a hillside? Not really, but…

…but I laugh my head off at those who believe, somehow, they are defeating Christianity by having it removed…Because, again, the power is in the message of the cross…not because two planks of wood are crossed like a lower case “t”…

They can destroy crosses, burn Bibles, close churches, outlaw prayer…but the message about what took place on the cross, the power given us through the scripture, the strength we attain by fellowshipping together and the victory we experience in prayer…can never be stopped.

Rejoice.

Boom!
