Scripture For The Day:
“Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”—Acts 4:12

How deep do we have to go on this scripture?

Yet, individuals will always look for a way around Jesus…they’ll look for a slightly less intimidating Savior who will understand and immediately forgive their every shortcoming…and absolve them from all consequence of their actions.

I cannot think of being saved without thinking of joy…it is the giant “whew!” moment of my life…it makes me very happy. As you peel back the layers on scripture how can you not look at the mention of being saved and equate it with great joy?

Thus being, that great joy is found in nothing other than Christ…You can say, my family, my children give me great joy…Awesome…but they are a gift from God…They are not necessary to your salvation, but they are blessing from the one who has provided/secured your salvation.

The happiness/joy the world offers feels good for a time…but it is only temporary.

Remember this line from a very old song:
“In a restless world like this is
Love has ended before it’s begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun…”

The world cools…its passions do not satisfy…and the reason for this is because there is only one name under heaven given to men/women by which they will know salvation and joy…

Jesus, who was crucified and who rose from the empty tomb.

Boom!

Are you ready for Sunday? Do you have your cannonade ready? Are you prepared to bring your Bible and test what is being shared from the pulpit…even as the Pastor preaches? Is Sunday service on your mind Saturday? Do you consider being ready for it as you make your plans for Saturday evening?

And most importantly do you know that you matter? You matter to the people who sit around you…you matter because they love you…and because your presence encourages them as they go into the next week…

Too often the Pastors get the credit for encouragement when really it is the person in the congregation that brings the blessing to the other…through the power of the Holy Spirit, of course.

So think about this…and be ready for Sunday morning.

Did You Know?
For interest only…
There is a historical theory that on this day in 60 A.D. St Paul is thought to have been shipwrecked at Malta (Acts 28).

On this date in history…
In 1546, German reformer Martin Luther wrote in a letter to his wife Kate: “Pray, and let God worry.”
